We are officially launching our call for entries for the regional short film competition, which will take place as part of the 13th edition of the Festival (April 16 to 23, 2026).
Each year, the Festival highlights the creativity, boldness, and talent of Estrie filmmakers. Whether you are an emerging director, a student, a professional, or a film enthusiast, this is a unique opportunity to present your work on the big screen to an attentive and engaged audience.
A showcase for local creators
The regional competition plays an important role in the Festival’s programming. It showcases the diversity of voices and stories that take shape in the region and offers selected artists significant visibility and special encounters with the public.
The short films received as part of this call for submissions will be evaluated by a jury, which will select the works to be screened during the Festival week. The selected films will be announced in March 2026.
From this selection, the jury will determine the recipient of the Pierre-Javaux Award for Best Short Film from the Estrie region, which will be presented during the Soirée estrienne on Wednesday, April 22, at 6 p.m. at La maison du cinéma.
Registration deadline
Filmmakers from the Estrie region have until January 9, 2026, to register their films.
All genres of short films are accepted: fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, and hybrid.
