Jongué, carnet nomade

IN PRESENCE OF THE DIRECTOR Canadian feature competition – Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) – 2019 A film about Serge Emmanuel Jongué, photographer-writer. Emigrated to Quebec to escape the family’s shadows, wounds and silences he spent his brief life exploring his multiple origins. Jongué’s life is told with his own texts, images and talismans from his birth in Aix-en-Provence until his untimely death in Montreal.

Ciné-Concert | A Tribute to International Film Score Composers

Presented by Global Excel The Seventh Art and its Musical Wonders! The Orchestre du Septième Art (OSA) is back with a bang in Sherbrooke after a much-felt 3-year absence. The Festival cinéma du monde de Sherbrooke has carved out a special place for them in their programme, with an exclusive show called A Tribute to International Film Score Composers. This stunning concert will seduce both music and film lovers. Under the direction of conductor and OSA founder Lise Bellehumeur, 50 musicians will be journeying through extraordinary film scores whilst specially selected film scenes are projected on screen. From Jurasic Park to Once Upon a Time in the West to Life of Pi, plunge into the musical universe of John Williams, Mychael Danna, Ennio Morricone and many other international composers! In the presence of composer Stephan Endelman, who will conduct one of his musical pieces from the film The Blue Butterfly. Master Class | Artistic Identity : An inquiry into Stephen’s Endelman’s world

Grammy-nominated composer Stephen Endelman holds the view that it is imperative to underpin musical creations with a thorough grounding in the concept of Artistic Identity. Defined as the authenticity of the creator, how else could art be true to oneself, and therefore have depth and weight? Based on his short film A boy, A Man and a Kite and his scores for other films, this Master Class will give you the opportunity to explore the links between Mr. Endelman’s work and his personal experiences and share insights about what it means to create art from an individual perspective. Come and discover the talent and creativity emerging from our secondary school students in the Eastern Townships! Students from schools who took part in the FCMS Pocket Film Competition – School Tournament, were invited to create a very short with a cell phone, tablet computer or a camera. The above photo was given to them as a source of inspiration. We invite you to come and see the fruits of their labour and the screening will be followed by a prize ceremony. Free activity
