PRESENTED IN COLLABORATION WITH TÉLÉ-QUÉBEC Do our screens mirror our true Québec? Given that a little more than one out of ten people in Québec is an immigrant, do our screens mirror that diversity? Are Québec actors who belong to a visible minority confined to stereotypical roles? Is it misleading to claim that the public is nowhere near seeing that diversity onscreen? Does hope reside in younger productions, that paint a more accurate portrait of society by including more characters who are products of that diversity? Attend the open debate, during which our guests will discuss the issues and realities surrounding diversity and representativity in the media, in film and on television. Opening night will be hosted by Radio-Canada. Join us for happy hour to celebrate the launch of the Festival’s 6th edition from 5 to 7 p.m. Open to all! Free admission At 7 p.m., head for La Maison du Cinéma to walk the red carpet before viewing the opening film, Les invisibles (Invisibles), directed by Louis-Julien Petit.
