Grâce au soutien de son grand-père et de l’amour inconditionnel de sa mère, la vie d’Angel et sa relation avec sa famille prennent un tournant inattendu. Merci au programme de traduction professionnelle du département des arts, langues et littératures de l’Université de Sherbrooke pour la traduction des sous-titres des films Brighton 4th et Ange de ma vie, présentés lors du Festival cinéma du monde de Sherbrooke 2022.

Elle aime son travail. Elle passe de nombreuses heures seule à enregistrer des bruitages, des sons témoins, à monter et à mixer. Le studio est son ultime refuge : un endroit où elle peut mettre un moment de côté ses relations tumultueuses avec son ex, sa vieille mère et ses collègues de travail. Même si elle l’ignore, C. commence à se désynchroniser. Comme dans un film à la bande-son défaillante, son cerveau s’est mis à traiter le son plus tard que les images qu’il reçoit. Alors que ce décalage s’amplifie, C. doit renoncer à son travail, faire face, de façon désynchronisée, à la mort de sa mère, et reconsidérer toute sa vie. Un beau jour, C. découvre que son asynchronie n’est pas une maladie, mais une manifestation surnaturelle qui peut la faire voyager dans l’espace-temps sonore. Elle apprendra à contrôler son étrange pouvoir et découvrira sa véritable origine.
