In Casablanca of today, chaotic and beautiful, violent and captivating, two childhood friends, Adil and Karim, live by one’s wits. One of them, used to employ children selling retail cigarettes, decides to change his life and be able to help his family. The other found adifferent solution to all his problems: buying a visa and a work contract for working abroad.

Born in 1964 in Safi (Morocco), he left for France to study pharmacy but quickly abandoned to pursue his passion for cinema. His first short films, shot in Norway, won numerous awards and helped him to enter the Oslo Academy of Cinema. His feature debut, Le Regard, was released in 2005 and garnered many awards. In 2008, his second feature, CasaNegra, broke the all-time box office record in Morocco, won 21 international awards and represented Morocco at the 2010 Academy Awards.
