Avec Jorge Martinez Colorado, Enzo Desmeules Saint-Hilaire, Eva Avila Chef cuisinier dans ses beaux jours, Camilo est aujourd’hui un cinquantenaire usé qui travaille pour une compagnie d’entretien ménager. On devine un échec personnel dans le passé de cet immigrant solitaire installé à Montréal. Camilo souhaite se reprendre en mains et l’occasion de retrouver sa passion culinaire se présente enfin. Tout est en place pour ce nouveau départ mais Camilo reçoit la visite de sa fille Tania, avec qui il avait coupé les liens à cause de ses problèmes de toxicomanie. Tania lui apprend qu’il est grand-père et lui demande de prendre l’enfant en charge pendant qu’elle suit une énième cure de désintoxication. L’arrivée de ce petit-fils bouscule les plans de Camilo.

We can guess a personal failure in the past of this solitary Mexican living in Montreal. However, Camilo wants to get back on track and an opportunity to recover his culinary passion finally presents itself. Everything is in place for this new beginning when Camilo receives a visit from his daughter Tania, with whom he had cut ties because of her drug addiction. She tells him that he is a grandfather and asks him to take care of the child while she undergoes her umpteenth rehab. The arrival of this grandson will upset Camilo’s plans. There will be a new beginning for him, certainly, but not as he imagined it.

Carmen
Ce film nous raconte l’histoire d’une jeune femme farouchement indépendante qui se voit forcée de quitter son domicile dans le désert mexicain suite au meurtre sauvage de sa mère, elle-même une femme forte et mystérieuse. Après avoir survécu à un passage de la frontière illégal et dangereux vers les États-Unis, elle se voit confrontée à un garde-frontière sans scrupule qui va jusqu’à tuer deux autres immigrants de son groupe.
