Understanding algorithms, mastering discoverability, creating for multiple platforms, designing immersive worlds, and integrating artificial intelligence responsibly: these are now the new horizons for audiovisual professionals. These findings come from the study Tendances, enjeux et compétences 2026–2029, published by the National Institute of Image and Sound (L’inis) in the fall of 2025. During this workshop, Louise Hélène Paquette, lead author of the study, and Stéphanie Verrier, director of program development at L’inis, will explain its findings.

Louise Hélène Paquette has over thirty years of experience in strategic research, forecasting, and competitive intelligence. She headed Radio-Canada's Strategic Intelligence Department for over seven years, after working in senior management at Astral Media, now Bell Media. As founder of Les Éclaireurs, she now helps organizations analyze changes in their business environment, interpret data, and make informed decisions. She also teaches digital humanities, artificial intelligence, foresight, digital communications, and regulatory frameworks at Collège La Cité and the HEC Montréal Executive Education Program, where she is an associate researcher at the Media Hub. Stéphanie Verrier Directrice du développement des programmes | Institut national de l'image et du son
Stéphanie Verrier has been Director of Training Program Development at INIS since March 2020. She oversees strategic monitoring, review, and design of new training programs, conducting consultations and research to ensure that the institute's offerings are continually updated. A producer for over 20 years, she founded Productions Flow in 2011 and collaborates with creators who are driven by a human and sensitive approach, in both documentary and fiction. Her productions have won awards at numerous festivals, as well as at the Gémeaux and Numix awards.
