Screening of three regional short films followed by a discussion with the directors.

In a creative, friendly, and candid discussion, Anh Minh Truong will present the selected works, highlighting their uniqueness in a context where the global and Quebec short film market is more competitive than ever.

Hosted by: Jean-Sébastien Dutil, director and screenwriter

On the program:

Fragments by Marie-Lou Béland – 8 min
Women’s voices rise up to deliver testimonies of victims of sexual violence. It is through the reconstruction of a narrative with these fragments of experience that a societal portrait is painted throughout the documentary. Like a mosaic, we will piece together the fragments to construct a unique story that could be that of any human being. The images are intended to reclaim the female body, giving it the status of a subject rather than an object.

À coeur battant by Aaron Timizar – 3 min
Two best friends eventually discover that their feelings for each other go beyond friendship.

Ils dansent avec leurs têtes by Thomas Corriveau – 8 min
The severed head of a choreographer is held captive by an eagle on a desert island. With a dazzling mastery of drawing and painting, this animated short unexpectedly takes us into the sensitive world of an artist madly in love with dance.

An activity presented in collaboration with the Conseil de la culture de l’Estrie.
