Noémi Mercier is a journalist. She hosts Kebec, the documentary series on Québec history airing on Télé-Québec. Each week, she also casts a keen eye on the world of news on Télé-Québec’s Dans les médias and discusses social and cultural issues on Radio-Canada’s radio program Pas tous en même temps. Winner of numerous awards for her investigations, portraits and feature stories, which have been published in L’actualité and Québec Science, she takes a special interest in questions of gender and gender equality. Her investigation into sex crimes in the Canadian Armed Forces has brought about important reforms within the Forces and has garnered her several awards. This year, the Montreal organizers of Black History Month chose her as one of twelve personalities to be honoured in its yearly calendar. Noémi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from McGill University.
