Marie-Claude Paradis-Vigneault
Anthropologist, with a passion for urban ethnography, Marie-Claude has directed her first interactive documentary in 2017, with the support of Amplifier. Entitled Dessine-moi Gamelin (Draw Gamelin for me), this cartography presents ten portraits of people who frequently visit Place Émilie-Gamelin (a public square in Montreal). After it premiered at Jardins Gamelin, presented in collaboration with the Quartier des Spectacles, her work has been shown in college and university classrooms in order to initiate conversations around the issues of diversity, gentrification, and ethnographic approaches in urban settings. Now a Sherbrooke resident, Marie-Claude is currently developing documentary projects rooted in its downtown streets.
