Hubert Lemire
Since graduating from the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal in 2005, Hubert Lemire has appeared as an actor in nearly forty theater productions. Hubert co-founded Théâtre DuBunker in 2005 and served as its artistic director from 2010 to 2021. The company toured 25 European cities with *Le NoShow*, a multi-award-winning production for which the company received the CALQ Award for Best International Tour in 2016. From 2017 to 2022, he chaired the board of directors of the Association of Theater Companies.
As artistic director of the Théâtre du Double Signe since 2021 and general director since 2024, Hubert promises audiences theatrical productions where the power of words allows everyone to recognize themselves, to encounter others, and to expand their humanity a little. He is also on stage this spring in the stage adaptation of Roberval’s Querelle, co-produced by eight companies, including the Double Signe, in addition to having co-directed with Marie-Hélène Gendreau the production of Fanny, a play by Rébecca Déraspe that continues its tour in Quebec after playing to sold-out houses in Sherbrooke in 2024.
