For more than 25 years, Gaston Lachance provided spiritual care to people with mental health problems. From 2008 until very recently, he was active as a professional, then a lecturer and associate professor at the Université de Sherbrooke. As part of his position, he was in charge of the spiritual care clinical training program and the spiritual component of the microprogram in palliative and end-of-life care at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMSS). In June 2012, he defended his doctoral thesis at Université Laval on the role of spiritual experience in mental health recovery. Until a short time ago, he was spiritual care provider at the palliative care residence La Maison Aube-Lumière, in Sherbrooke.
