Anne-Marie Rocher
Anne-Marie Rocher is an accomplished producer and director of films and documentary series. She is the executive producer and the director of the feature film Forêts urbaines (Urban Forests), co-produced with Office national du film du Canada. Its first general release in French is scheduled for April 2025, in Montreal. Through her company, Productions Testa, Anne-Marie Rocher pursues an extensive career as an independent producer and director. She is the creator of several documentaries: Vue sur un périple (Radio-Canada 2021 and TV5 Monde 2024) which also screened at the Forest City Film Festival in 2023 under the title With the Wind and Wave; the 3-part documentary series Droit comme un F (TFO and ONF 2015) also known as The Fight for Francophone Rights (NFB 2015); and the documentary film Correspondant du Grand Nord (TV5Unis and TV5 Monde 2015). She is the executive producer and co-writer of the series Premières rencontres au pays des Wahgoshigs (Radio-Canada 2017). Her two documentaries filmed on Prince-Edward-Island, Les Acadiens de l’Île, chronique d’une renaissance (2004) and Le théâtre de mes dix ans (2006) aired on TfO, TV5 and TV5Monde. Her documentary Guy Rocher, un sociologue militant (2002) won an award at the Columbus International Film Festival. She has also won many awards, including the jury award at the International Festival of Films on Art (Montreal) and educational film award at the International Festival of Films on Art (France) for André Markowicz, la voix d’un traducteur (1999). Gugging (1996), her film about a group of Austrian artists living in a psychiatric institution, garnered awards at the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, the Columbus International Film Festival, the Festival de Lorquin (France) and the International Festival of Films on Art (France).
