Although Quebec society appears to be increasingly open to issues of gender identity, transgressing heteronormative and binary social norms remains perilous. Being transgender, queer, or intersex is a reality that still raises many challenges and discomfort. Transitude takes a sensitive and intimate look at the experiences of four people of different ages and backgrounds as they navigate their gender identity in Quebec’s Eastern Townships region.
