How can refugee children integrate into Quebec’s school system, given the unspeakable violence they’ve experienced? Following a psychologist specializing in conflict-related trauma, Unspoken Tears pays tribute to the admirable resilience and survival strategies of these “small adults”, whose spirit the bombs and camps have not completely crushed, at a time when it is vital to raise awareness in Western societies of migration-related issues and children’s rights.

Hélène Magny
A former journalist, Hélène Magny has devoted herself to documentaries for more than 20 years. Her films have led her to deal with subjects as diverse as resistance to the dictatorship in Burma, mental illness at the Philippe-Pinel National Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, migration issues, the impact of journalism on the democratization of Democratic Republic of Congo or the fairy tale of a Kinshasa street child who became a movie star. The common point between all these films: a committed look at social and political issues."Unspoken Tears" is her ninth film.
