Upon her release from prison, Toni tries to rebuild her life and reconnect with her daughter Anna, who was raised by her grandmother Betty. But her first love, Max, pulls her despite herself back toward a criminal world she is determined to escape. Working in her uncle Frank’s restaurant, she uncovers his smuggling activities, and Max drags her into a violent confrontation on the docks. She must face police pressure and tries to redeem herself by distancing from Max. But trouble catches up with her, putting her family in danger. Toni will risk everything to finally find a chance at a future alongside Anna and Betty.
