On the program :

Là où errent les loups by Juliette Balthazar – 17 min
Prague, 2022 – Having found refuge from the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, two women and their young daughters face the expectation and hope of an imminent return to Ukraine. Suspended in this city, they tell the story of their past and give access to their daily lives, in which they try to learn how to go on living.

Juste un toit by Emmanuel Rioux – 19 min
The housing crisis has many faces. Those of Jeannette and Frances plunge us into the difficult experience of eviction. During long months of anguish, brief hopes and uprooting, Jeannette and Frances struggle, alone and surrounded, against a phenomenon that is becoming more and more pronounced: the forced loss of one’s home.

Madeleine by Raquel Sancinetti – 15 min
Every week, Raquel, a 41-year-old Brazilian immigrant, visits Madeleine, her 107-year-old friend, at her retirement home and tries to convince her to go outside. The old lady always refuses, as she has nothing to do outside her home. Raquel doesn’t give up, however, and finds a way to take Madeleine on a trip to the sea. What follows is an adventure where reality and fiction mingle, and through which the two friends exchange views on life, death and the certainty that there is always something to learn along the way.

D’ici d’ailleurs by Chadi Bennani – 17 min
At the start of the summer of their 16th birthdays, Adam, Ana and Dahlia turn to family and friends to question their cultural heritage. Through intimate conversations, D’ici, d’ailleurs juxtaposes the different influences and realities governing the development of the cultural identity of 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants.
