A theatrical docu-drama by André Gélineau, directed by Emmanuelle Laroche

Friday, April 12 | PREMIERE & Cocktail | 8:00 pm
At the Centre des arts de la scène Jean-Besré

André Gélineau’s Les Ordres (dans le désordre) is a story based on real situations and authentic characters, tracing Marianne’s journey through her need for freedom. It’s a plunge into the heart of an identity quest that probes the determination to take a stand.

Marianne, a Quebecer in her forties with an exhausted sense of social solidarity, is in the throes of an identity crisis. She can’t sleep and is obsessed with Michel Brault’s film Les Ordres. Like the protagonists who fell victim to arbitrary strikes during the October Crisis, Marianne feels muzzled too by the fear of humiliation, even if no force of law and order attacks her.

After the various performances, a discussion moderated by psychologist and columnist Nathalie Plaat will deepen the themes addressed and broaden the scope of the show.

Activities in parallel

Don’t miss the exhibition of film archives in collaboration with Médiafilm and the Cinémathèque Québécoise, presented at the Maison du Cinéma from April 8 to 11, and at the CASJB during performances of the play!
