Come and celebrate the best of our Eastern Township’s creative talent! 6 shorts are in the running for the Prix-Pierre-Javaux Meilleur court métrage de l’Estrie (Best Eastern Townships Short Film). Not only will there be a question-and-answer session with the directors after the screening, but emotions will be flying high when the award is presented!
Regular price: $14.50 | 65 and over: $11.50 | 25 and under: $8.50
Passports are eligible.

Myriam Leblond
Myriam Leblond has worked in television and film production for over twenty years. She has produced series with both a social and a cultural tangent, but her current passion is documentary. A true catalyst for change, Myriam Leblond is passionate about documenting the human condition so we can increase our capacity to reflect on the world.

Oana Suteu Khintirian
Oana Suteu Khintirian is a director and media artist of Romanian-Armenian origin who has lived in Montreal since 1995. She studied filmmaking and, over the last 20 years, her dance films and documentaries have won awards at numerous international festivals. In addition to her work as a director, Oana has created installations and immersive environments shown at museums and galleries around the world. Beyond Paper, her first feature-length documentary, won the Golden Circle for Best Feature-length documentary at the FCMS in 2023. She is currently pursuing a PhD at Université de Montréal.

Alexis Thibault
Alexis Thibault is a cinephile since childhood when the go-to family leisure activity was renting a movie. Graduated from a Master of research in mental health and from a Bachelors degree in Psychology, he’s passionate about intrigues that make him think and which explore human vulnerability. Caring for FCMS’s mission, he was an attendee, an event host, a promotor and a collaborator of its activities. Today, he works in the domain of science communication as BistroBrain organization’s general manager.

Laurent Ulrich
A graduate of UQAM's École des médias in cinematography, Laurent Ulrich has been working in film and television since 2010. He left Montréal for the Eastern Townships in 2019. This allowed for a gentler and more fruitful life, full of new sources of inspiration. In Sherbrooke, he shoots short and feature-length fiction films, documentaries, adverts, and takes part in various projects as an instructor and head lighting technician. He is also a member of the band Eager Dance.

Olivier Tétreault
Olivier T. is a French-Canadian director, cinematographer and producer. His work in fiction and documentary explores themes relating to the quest for identity, family, love and our relationship with the land. His films straddle genres and mediums.

Jonathan Goyette
Jonathan Goyette graduated from INIS in documentary directing and scriptwriting and then made his way through the Kino movement. He has scripted, directed, edited, and self-produced several independent short films, some of which have been selected for festivals such as Cinéma sous les étoiles and Image et Nation. He is interested in the hybrid of cinematographic forms as a way of examining the relationship between humans and their environment. Kaléidoscope lyrique juxtaposes documentary and experimental images to let viewers experience the impact of nature on the imagination of the painter Jean-Paul Riopelle. Amandine Garrido
Amandine Garrido has been working in the performing arts for several years as a dancer-performer, choreographer and teacher. She obtained her diploma in dance performance with training in classical and contemporary dance in 2002 (University of Chile) and worked for various contemporary companies in her country. With an extraordinary array of talents, she inspires people with her stage presence, versatility and fluidity of movement. She has been a member of the ZemmourBallet dance company since 2020 and was its artist-in-residence in 2022. Passionate about culture and society, Emmanuelle Roberge's artistic practice is rooted in a socially intimate approach. She seeks to delve into the essence of her subjects, their identity, and what inhabits their gestures. She aims to reveal their beauty, even when touched by shadows, as it is this beauty that primarily inspires change, moves, and evokes emotions.

Jean-Sébastien Dutil
Réalisateur et scénariste qui se démarque par sa sensibilité et sa capacité à créer des liens profonds avec les protagonistes de ses films, Jean-Sébastien Dutil a pour motivation de montrer l’humain dans toute son authenticité. Il utilise le documentaire pour nous rapprocher de réalités souvent stigmatisées. Selon lui, c’est l’ignorance qui amène à juger, et ses films permettent une proximité unique pour exposer les tabous.

Jøhan Gass
Originaire de l’Europe, Jøhan Gass est maintenant basé à Sherbrooke au Québec. Il a fait de la musique pendant 10 ans avant de lancer sa carrière de réalisateur. En 2020, il a été sélectionné à la course des régions pancanadiennes où il remporté 2 prix avec son docu-fiction ENSAF. Depuis, il réalise des publicités cinématographiques pour diverses institutions et entreprises ainsi que des séries web/télé, des vidéoclips et des courts métrages.
