What if the “Quantum Realm” were actually located… in Sherbrooke?
For this edition of the FCMS, we invite you to dive into a wildly entertaining, off-beat exploration of the Marvel universe. Between action-packed scenes from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, our expert on Sherbrooke’s quantum ecosystem will pause the film to debunk Hollywood’s quantum “hype” and unpack the real science—with a healthy dose of humor and sarcasm.
From genuine quantum advantage to the delightful absurdities of cinematic biology, come discover why Sherbrooke’s real-world innovations in quantum technologies are far more fascinating (and far more complex) than Hollywood’s special effects. A friendly, accessible encounter to understand how our city envisions itself as the “Silicon Valley” of the infinitely small.
Film synopsis:
Since Ant-Man helped save the planet alongside the Avengers, he no longer knows what to do with his days. Between sudden fame and writing a memoir, the tiny superhero is craving new challenges—and his daughter Cassie is ready to provide them. She has used her grandfather Hank’s technology to communicate with the Quantum Realm, the timeless, spaceless dimension where grandmother Janet was trapped for years. After an unexpected incident, the entire family is pulled into this strange world populated by extraordinary creatures. Kang the Conqueror rules it with brutal authority, and he will stop at nothing to escape.
