Macarena Silva

Born in Santiago, Chile, Macarena is a journalist by profession. She has happily immersed herself in the community sector since arriving in Quebec 15 years ago. It was primarily out of curiosity about its mission that she began working as a director at Ô Cirque, the social circus in Sherbrooke. For the past five years, Macarena has been working behind the scenes to promote circus arts to young people as a tool for empowerment and individual and social transformation. In addition, she is responsible for programming and communications at the Waterville Cultural and Community Center, the village where she lives with her two children.
