CANADIAN PREMIERE

Many people were killed in the village of Ziglo, in western Côte d’Ivoire, during the 2011 civil war that pitted Indigenous communities against immigrant communities from Burkina Faso. Having waited too long for state justice, Josiane known as Maman Jo an Indigenous woman, decided to take the village’s fate into her own hands by creating a space for dialogue for women from all communities. Through this initiative, she hopes to foster reconciliation and help Ziglo come back to life.
