Tribute
The FCMS has paid tribute to Via Le Monde Group and to its president and founder, Daniel Bertolino, highlighting the 50 years of achievements and productions of a variety of documentaries around the world. The short film No me Savey, moi pas savoir shooted in Papua New Guinea, in 1971, and directed by Daniel Bertolino, has been presented before the closing film.

Every edition, a jury awards two prices among the international programming:

The selection of movies in competition will be revealed during the launch of the programming in mid-March 2017.
JURY OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
Pierre Lebeau
President of the jury
Graduate of the l’École nationale de théâtre du Canada (National Theater School of Canada) in 1975, Pierre Lebeau divides his time between acting and writing. He was the recipient of a Jutra award in 2003 for his role as Séraphin in Séraphin, un homme et son péché. In theater, he participated in more than 50 plys, including Le Procès, En attendant Godot and Cyrano de Bergerac. In 2009, Pierre Lebeau received the Grand Prix spécial des Ameriques at the Festival des Films du Monde de Montréal for his entire film career.
Véronique Grenier
Philosophy teacher at college, Véronique Grenier is the author of Hiroshimoi (Editions Ta Mère). She is also a columnist (Urbania and La Gazette des femmes), a blogger (Les p’tits pis moé), as well as speaker and co-spokesperson for the provincial campaign “Sans oui, c’est non! “.
Luce Couture
After studying literature and journalism, Luce Couture worked at the Journal Option Globale, the Magazine L’Estrie, and the Conseil de la Culture in the Estrie region. Then, she joined the Bishop’s Centennial Theater team where she was Programming Director for 18 years and Executive Director until May 2016. Known for her audacity, she received numerous awards during her career, including the Reconnaissance RIDEAU award and three Opus awards.
Anh Minh Truong
Film and television director and screenwriter, Anh Minh Truong has a filmography of 17 short-and-medium-length films, and he has produced numerous video clips, commercials and TV shows. He has more than forty awards and he is currently developing three feature film projects.
Étienne Rousseau

The FCMS is proud to welcome someone from the public on its jury of the international competition.
Among the applications received as part of the juror call, Étienne Rousseau is the candidate selected.
Regional category
Within its annual programming, the FCMS presents the Projection of short films of Eastern Townships emphasizing several movies of the region having been selected by a jury.
Among these movies, the jury will award the price Cercle Best short film of Eastern Townships.
Vincent Marie
President of the jury
Vincent Marie is a director. Associate and PhD in History, he has specialized in visual culture approaches (cinema, comics). He teaches filmmaking at the Philippe Lamour Highschool in Nîmes and semiotics of the image at the University of Montpellier (France). With Antoine Chosson, he directed Bulles d’exil in 2014, a documentary film about comics and immigration. His latest film Là où poussent les coquelicots will be screened at this fourth edition of the festival.
Gérald Côté
Professor at Laval University, Gérald Côté has published several articles and essays, and he has given various international conferences on musical cultures of the world. He traveled to more than 40 countries on behalf of various projects that celebrate the diversity of cultures and has been a consultant for documentaries.

Pocket film Competition – School Tournament
The School Tournament (Tournoi des écoles) is a short film competition for all high school students from participating schools in Sherbrooke.
This is a great opportunity for young people to express their creativity through the seventh art, to initiate themselves and to discover new talent and interests.
The participants have the whole month of February to make a video (fiction film, documentary, animated film, stop-motion, experimental) lasting between 1 and 4 minutes, following the edition theme.
Each school is responsible for selecting, by an internal jury, a winning film and two finalist films that will represent their school for the School Tournament. Relatives and the general public can admire the creativity of students selected at the public screening event that will be held in the Festival.
